Why we are celebrating Raksha Bandhan festival.
This festival gained popularity after Rani Karnavati, the widowed queen of Chittor, sent a Rakhi to
Mughal emperor Humayun when she was in need of his help. It is also believed
that Draupadi tied Rakhi to Lord Krishna. For

A festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters, it
has the sisters tying a thread around their brother's wrist as a symbol of
their love and in turn the brother pledges to protect his sister. Raksha
Bandhan in Sanskrit literally means "the tie or knot of protection".
It is an ancient Hindu festival that ritually celebrates the love and duty
between brothers and their sisters.
