Why do astronauts require special training?
An astronauts or a cosmonaut is a person who either pilots a spacecraft or acts as a crew member on it. These people have to be trained before they are sent on space missions. This is because they have to learn to control the flight simulator in the shuttle. They also have to deal with the weightlessness that they will encounter in space. They are also trained to act in various emergencies that they might encounter. The astronauts have to carry out repair work and check the support systems on the space stations. They also have to perform various scientific and medical experiments.
The astronauts have
to learn to keep everything strapped and stowed in lockers provided in the spacecraft.
They also have to exercise regulalarly to counter the effect of microgravity or
weightlessness. The special training prepares them for all of this and more.
