SEAWATER ARE SALTY
Oceans are large water bodies that cover 70% of the earth’s
surface. They also contain 97% of the water. The rivers of the earth fall into
the oceans. However, the river water fall into the oceans. However, the river
water is not salty. But these rivers carry minerals and salts that have been
dissolved into them when these were eroded from the mountain sides from where
the rivers have passed. This is a continuous process. The oceans water itself
has many minerals and organic matter dissolved in them. Element like chorine,
sodium, sulphur, magnesium, calcium and potassium are present in the ocean
water. These add to the salinity of the water.
