Joint
are important why?
Joints are located where two bones are joined together. They along with muscles together help the bones to move. The joints protect the bones from damaging each other while moving. The immovable joint, called sutures, hold the bones of our skull together. In movable joints, the ends of the bones that move over one another are covered with a cartilage. The cartilage helps the joints to move easily and protect the bones from sudden shocks. The hinge joint allows movement in only one direction. Knee, elbow and finger joints are hinge joints. The pivots and gliding joints is found between the skull and spine. It allows the head to move sideways, upwards and downwards. The ball and socket joint are found in the shoulder and the pelvis. The hands and legs can swing freely, while the rest of the body remains perfectly still.
